Abandoned Repairs
Repair Pickup & Abandonment Policy
We understand that life gets busy — but from time to time, items dropped off for repair are left unclaimed for extended periods, sometimes months or even years. As a small business with limited storage capacity, we’ve implemented the following policy to ensure we can continue to serve all customers efficiently and fairly.
Storage Fees (after 3 months):
If an item remains unclaimed for more than 3 months after repair completion (and we have made reasonable efforts to contact the owner via phone, voicemail, email, or text), a $25/month storage fee will apply. This fee accrues monthly up to a maximum of $225 and is in addition to any parts or repair charges.
Time Limit for Pickups (1 year):
If the item is not picked up within 1 year from the original drop-off date, it will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Faders Music Inc. At that point, we reserve the right to sell the item to recover storage and repair costs. Unfortunately, no compensation will be provided if the item is claimed after this one-year period.
Communication Attempts:
We typically make 2–5 attempts to contact customers throughout this timeframe. The first attempt is made immediately after the repair is completed or if the item is found to be unrepairable.
Please ensure your contact information is accurate when dropping off an item. We are not responsible for missed notifications due to incorrect or outdated information.
Unrepairable Items:
If an item is deemed unrepairable (or not economical to repair), we will notify you to arrange pickup. Bench fees are non-refundable.
Unclaimed unrepairable items will be disposed of after 6 months from the drop-off date. Fees related to diagnostics and handling still apply. No compensation will be provided if the item is claimed beyond this timeframe.
