Abandoned Repairs

It's hard to believe.. but sometimes folks will drop off an item to be repaired and then disappear for months.. or years without any further contact. We only have so much space for long term storage so here is our fair and clearly written policy for when this happens:

Storage Fees after 3 months:

If an item that was dropped off for repair is left unclaimed for more than 3 months after the repair has been completed (and we have contacted the owner by phone, voicemail, email or text), a $25 per month storage fee will be charged up to the 1 year anniversary of the date of drop off according to the repair tag/bench fee receipt. ($225 max charge for storage) on top of the applicable parts & repair charges. 

Time Limit for Pick Ups:

After 1 year (from the date of drop off), the item will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Faders Music Inc. at which point we will sell the item to recoup repair and storage fees. There will be no compensation to the customer in the event they return to pickup the item after the 1 year date.

We typically attempt contact 2-5 times within this period of time. The first contact will be immediately after the repair has been completed or the item is determined to be unrepairable.

Please note.. we are not responsible if you provide us with incorrect contact information or don't get the message.

Unrepairable Items:

If an item is determined to be unrepairable (or not worth repairing due to the relative cost of the repair to the value of the item) we will contact you to pickup your item. Bench Fees are not refundable.

Abandoned, non-repairable items will be destroyed and discarded after 6 months from the date of drop off. We do not accept any responsibility for these items after these dates and the estimate/repair/storage fees will still apply. There will be no compensation to the customer in the event they return to pickup the item after the 6 month date.
