Ted Good Music – Over 50 Years of Helping You Find Your Sound

It all started over 50 years ago when Ted Good began teaching music lessons from his basement at 747-10th Street in Brandon. What began as a small lesson program has grown into the largest music store in Western Manitoba — a place where thousands of musicians have found their sound.

While the music world has changed over the decades, our commitment to helping musicians discover and create hasn’t. We’re proud to honour our past while leading the way into the future — offering the latest gear, expert service, and the same dedication to quality that’s been part of our story since day one.

More Than Just a Store

  • Our experienced service department is ready to handle any buzz, hum, or rattle your instrument throws at you.
  • Our lesson program is still going strong, with passionate teachers who can help you sharpen your skills and unlock your musical potential.
  • Whether you're a beginner picking up your first instrument or a seasoned player looking to refine your sound, we're here to help.

A New Chapter with Faders Music

In Fall 2021, Ted Good Music joined forces with Faders Music Inc. — combining decades of experience to create the best customer experience in-store and online. Each store retains its unique vibe: Teds is still Teds, Faders is still Faders — but now, we’re working together to serve Brandon, Westman, and all of Canada even better.

Honouring the Past, Embracing the Future

As the needs of musicians continue to evolve, so do we. From expanding our product range to enhancing our service options, we’re committed to growing alongside our customers — providing the same trusted expertise while helping you explore new sounds and creative possibilities.

How it works

Step 1: Evaluation

Complete the form through the link above and we'll provide an estimated trade-in value. Final value is subject to inspection upon arrival.

Step 2: Agreement

Once a trade value is agreed upon, we will:

  • Place your new item on hold
  • Provide a prepaid shipping label for your trade-in (or you can use the carrier of your choice)

Step 3: Shipping Your Trade-In

  • Instruments must be packed securely
  • We strongly recommend full insurance coverage
  • Shipping costs will be deducted from the trade value

Step 4: In-Transit Credit

Once we see movement on the tracking number, we will issue an eGift card for a percentage of the agreed trade value as a good-faith credit.

Step 5: Inspection

When your instrument arrives, we will inspect it to confirm:

  • Condition matches the agreed upon condition
  • Serial number matches the one provided in the evaluation

Once confirmed, we will issue the remaining balance of the trade value as an eGift card.
